Living in modern cities can be challenging and detrimental to health due to pollution and physical and mental stresses. Thus, city dwellers are beginning to prioritize their quality of life and wellbeing. Access and usage of green spaces have been indicated to deliver health benefits, from improved mental wellbeing and levels of physical activity to reduced exposure to pollution and high urban temperatures. A future livable city should aim to create holistic, integrated, and low-carbon solutions that deliver social, economic, environmental, wellbeing, and resource security through the development of innovative technological pathways.
